Who benefits from permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup is available for anyone who desires a natural enhancement to their appearance.
It is especially beneficial for people who can't wear other cosmetics due to allergies and skin sensitivities, and for active sports enthusiasts who want to look their best without reapplying cosmetics.
People whose vision makes it difficult to apply cosmetics, those with medical conditions that cause unsteady hands, or others who cannot conveniently apply their own makeup all benefit from permanent makeup.
What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup is cosmetic tattooing. The specialized techniques used for permanent cosmetics deposit colored pigment into the dermis layer of the skin.
How is the procedure performed?
Permanent makeup procedures are performed using machine and hand methods. The process includes an initial consultation, then application of pigment, and a follow up visit for adjusting the shape and color or density of the pigment.
Is permanent makeup really permanent?
Permanent makeup procedures are considered permanent because the color is implanted in the dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, like all tattoos, fading can and often does occur, so periodic color refreshing may be needed.
How long does each procedure take?
The initial procedure will generally take up to 2½ hours. Touch-up procedures will take less time.
