Dependent Mandate Reminder

January 1 marked the implementation date of the revised State Dependent Mandate. Upon renewal, on or after January 1, 2012, state law for coverage of dependents has been changed to age 26 (regardless of marital status). The employee application has been revised to reflect the new mandate which no longer grants or denies coverage for dependents based on marital status. Please make sure you have the most recent applications that reflect this change available to your employees. You can request paper copies from your DHP Account Manager. We ask that you please recycle any old applications you have in your office. Please let us know if you have any questions about this change or the new application.

Please note: the dependent mandate change goes into effect for the Individual product line on April 1, 2012.
