Dean Docs Show off Their Culinary Skills for a Good Cause
Health Care Providers Trade in the Stethoscope for Cooking Utensils to Raise Money for the Dean Foundation’s Reading Clinic
On Sunday, October 30th, health care providers from Dean will be getting creative in the kitchen. It’s all part of an annual culinary competition known as Doc du Jour.
All the proceeds from the event go to the newly formed Reading Clinic Scholarship Fund. Twenty to thirty percent of children struggle when learning to read.
“The Dean Foundation operates an innovative reading clinic that works with children who suffer from many different types of reading disabilities,” says Al Arnold. “The Scholarship Fund will provide reading lessons to children whose families cannot afford to pay for lessons.”
Guests of Doc du Jour can gather to watch the competition, starting at 4 p.m. at Quivey’s Grove Stable Grill in Madison. As a guest you will enjoy a sampling of delicious dishes and a variety of vintage wines. After the tasting, you'll cast your vote for your favorite. The chef that wins will receive the coveted title of Doc du Jour!
Some of the providers showing off their talents include:
Danielle Gindlesberger, MD – Family Medicine - Dean Clinic Sun Prairie
Dan Gustafson, PhD – Psychiatry - Dean Clinic West
Mitchell Kopnick, MD – Urology – Dean Clinic in Janesville
Leslie Taylor, MD – Psychiatry – Dean Foundation
Mary Davis, MD – Chief Medical Officer – Dean Health Plan
Al Arnold, MS – Dean Foundation Reading Clinic
Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on a variety of gourmet meals prepared by the competitors, in your home, exclusively for you and your guests.
